By taking part in the ACS Auto Renntagen, Paddy decided to test the suitability of man, machine and equipment for the forthcoming AvD-Histo-Tour. The Volvo 1800E is back after the last AvD-Histo-Tour rally in 2023 and made a great comeback at the Coppa d'Europa from Maastricht to Prague in 3 days. Paddy finished 20th out of 34 classified teams in the CoppaSport category. The five-day journey from home across Europe and back came to an abrupt end with just 350km to go. Then Paddy "Nico" Murphy stepped in to save the day.
What started as a shock two weeks before the event turned into a success story! Paddy raced with his backup car to the second place and won another trophy at the AvD-Histo-Tour! Paddy raced at the Nürburgring Grand Prix race track, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Circuit Zolder and the legendary Nordschleife.
In August 2014 Paddy bought his first classic car. What a car it was! A Ford Capri MK III 2.3 S - Paddy named it Henry. No, not after Henry Ford. Henry was named after Henry Joy McCracken, an Irish industrialist and founding member of the Society of the United Irishmen. Ten years later, it's time to say goodbye. What a decade it has been.
